great for the money Mar 10, 2011
By nh I bought this guitar as a second one so if someone wanted to play bass we would have it. Our first guitar is Guitar Hero 5 so to compare the two i did some measuring. Guitar hero 5 guitar is approx. 2 inches longer and the base is about 1 inch larger than this one. Not really a problem. I read all reviews prior to buying this so to address the loudness of the clicking when you strum, it's louder than our other one but not really a bother to us because we usually play all our music games fairly loud. I just tested all our games with this guitar and it works with the following: Guitar Hero 5, Guitar Hero-Legends of Rock, Band Hero, Guitar Hero-World Tour, Rock Band 3, Lego Rock Band, Rock Band-The Beatles. This guitar also worked in multiplayer mode with our the other guitar.

SOMEWHAT Fully Compatible...READ FOR DETAILS! Nov 14, 2010
By Dan I. Royalty Just got this guitar...It would appear the product description is not entirely accurate. The guitar is not recognized on Rock Band 1 for the Wii (it also did not work on Rock Band Track Pack Volume 2). That being said, the guitar works perfectly on Beatles Rock Band. I have not tried it with any of the Guitar Hero titles or other Rock Band titles. I would love to hear other people's findings on this guitar. I REPEAT--THIS GUITAR DOES NOT WORK ON WII ROCK BAND 1 OR ROCK BAND TRACK PACK VOLUME 2. It works on Wii Beatles Rock Band. I'm interested in seeing if it'll work for Band Hero or the other Wii titles that utilize the guitar peripheral. It looks like I'm going to have to break down and buy the official guitars for both Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

Nice alternative Sep 22, 2010
By SirGalihad Nice alternative to the Ebay imports and Overpriced official Nintendo/Activision controllers. As compared to the GH5 it has a little bit larger thumb/strum bar. A plus in my book. Fret buttons have two indicator marks on them as opposed to one for the GH5 controller which makes it easier to identify button and hand position without looking down. Another plus. It runs right off the controller without any additional batteries needed, just like the GH5 controller which is great. Button placement takes a bit getting used to but it's ok. It does not have the touch sensitive neck slider buttons, which is a big negative as it limits your point scoring ability in GH5 and GHWT which support that feature. I prefer the whammy bar on the Extreme 2 to the one on the GH5 controller which seems pretty flimsy. Overall good build quality.
Now just need to find compatible face plates or stickers for this white beast.

What it works with so far. Jan 06, 2012
By A.P.L

Here's what I have tried that works so far: Guitar Hero Aerosmith Guitar Hero Metallica Guitar Hero Van Halen Guitar Hero Smash Hits Guitar Hero World Tour Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock Band Hero Rock Band 2 Rock Band 3 Rock Band Beatles Lego Rock Band AC/DC Track Pack Metal Track Pack Rock Band Green Day Classic Rock Track Pack (I have not tried Guitar Hero III which I'm trying to find but I'll assume it works unless someone says otherwise.) This means that if I'm right, it only doesn't work with Rock Band 1 and Track Packs Vol. 1 and 2.
