Does not work as intended. Feb 24, 2011
By Nogan I purchased this to use multiple inputs with one AVR input. The optical quality is very poor, there is a noticeable dimming of the laser once it passes through the switch. Enough dimming that my AVR could not process the signal. Unplug the switch and run direct problem solved. I tried switching inputs for outputs with no change. Maybe I just got a bad one. After waiting 14 days to get this one I'll just be throwing it in the trash and buying something of higher quality!

Works fine, but remember that there is signal loss Oct 12, 2011
By William Reading I bought this because I didn't want to pay more money for a proper active splitter into my receiver. It works, but it does result in significant signal loss. This isn't really a big deal for the most part because it's all digital anyway. Your real worry is that you lose enough signal to where it drops out completely, which isn't the case if you use short TOSLINK cables.
I'd probably only recommend using it with 6' or shorter TOSLINK cables. It's also necessary to make sure that you get the dial lined up properly when change inputs. I found that it didn't work with a 25' TOSLINK cable, but that's not a huge surprise.
All in all, a decent product, and it means that I have to fiddle around less with cables when I want to switch input devices to my receiver.
Cheap plastic, but it works Jan 05, 2012

The build quality is poor. The selector switch may not last more than 100 turns. But its cheap and works so far, so no complaints. I'm using it to connect my SPDIF out from TV and SPDIF from HTPC to my Home Theater receiver. So far i haven't had any lag with my receiver. But the build quality makes me think this product will not last for more than a year.
Wish I could give it no stars Dec 23, 2011
By Frank Garrett Lets see.
Input Digital audio slot does not fit the cords, but outputs were fine.
Oh and:
SWITCH DOES NOT TURN....AT ALL.
Worst purchase I have EVER made online. Avoid this piece of garbage at all cost and pay the extra few bucks for a WORKING product.
Almost happy.... Dec 19, 2011
By guymat This 3 way optical splitter is ALMOST perfect. After about 2 weeks of usage the little LED lights which indicate which cable is connected went out. Okay we can live without them, but then somewhere inside the wires (?) became loose and we have to press, bang, knock the unit to make the connection work. As long as we don't touch it (change the connection) it will work almost every time. We tried the dual connection splitters which are available (we only need to connect 2 cables and you don't have to move the arm to make the connection) but after 3 different dual splitters none of them worked; they are pure junk. I guess we have to be happy with what we have.
