Philips Home Theater System - Refurb Dec 05, 2009

Some risk in buying a refurb product, but not in this case. Easy set up, especially if your son does it for you, and great video and sound. It is nice to have the full spectrum of sound all around you when watching a movie. I think it adds to the whole experience. There was a missing piece and I contacted the seller, ZapMe, and within a couple of days had a reply followed by the part. Nice people, very helpful.

POOR WARRANTY SERVICE! Mar 23, 2011
By varmarsha i got one of these units less than a year ago from an online purchase like amazon.
the unit's receiver all of a sudden failed to power on one morning and i immidiately contacted philips about the problem seeing that it was supposed to be under warranty.
firstly the first CSR i spoke to said that the warranty for the home theatre units is only 3 months, but i thought that to be strange so i called back and spoke to another CSR, only to find out that the warranty is still valid for a year, and all i neeeded to do was email in my proof of purchase. they never replied acknowledging the proof of purchase and i ended up calling back over and over again (over 2 weeks) each time getting a different excuse as to why they will not replace or repair my unit.
their final response which just pissed me off is that due to the fact i bought this online from a third party seller (despite the invoice highlighting the purchase was for a BRAND NEW SYSTEM)the warranty became null and void.
LISTEN TO ME...AVOID PHILIPS PRODUCTS...THEY SUCK AND THEIR SERVICE SUCKS MORE!
