5Great..if you understand the burn process....  Apr 08, 2009
By Misrak Man "Mr.Varma"
I think many people believe that burning a disc is just a matter of shoving it in their computer and clicking the burn button. If you don't understand the burn process, you're going to get alot of coasters.

First, when your burning ANY brand of DL discs you're making your computer's CPU do ALOT of heavy lifting. Imaging trying to squat 300lbs, while someone is yelling at you to answer the phone, take out the trash, all while trying to drink a cup of coffee, while juggling a ball-all at the same time; that's what your computer feels like when it's trying to burn a disc, and you have other programs running at the same time...........if you want sucessful burns, SHUT OFF ALL OTHER PROGRAMS ON YOUR COMPUTER!And that includes being Online!

Secondly: burn at the slowest speed possible. Regrdless of how fast the packaging says you can burn, ALWAYS burn at a slow speed. Yes, it may take more time, but its less time to burn slow than having to burn the same disc, over and over and over again until it works.

Adhere to this and most of the complaints on here will be avoided. The errors can also be 'caused by your individual disc burner'. Some burners are just very picky about what brand they want to burn too; that's just the way things are.

I've used Philips for some time now, and haven't gotten one coaster out of my DL pack yet..simply because i adhere to the rules i listed above.

4Worked for me  Oct 02, 2008
By Mr.Fizzlepop
As others have mentioned these are DVD-R DL discs and if your drive doesn't support DL these will not work.

I had a heck of a time even finding DVD-R discs to begin with, so even with the other average reviews I decided to chance it and buy this.

So far all the Discs have worked fine for me, no glitches at all.

5Very Good  May 13, 2008
By Nisim Heletz
I don't really know what the he*k the other guy is talking about. I got these discs to transfer HD video from my pana sd9 and these discs have been flawless so far. I just came back here to check the price, because its almost time to re-order and saw this review and thought I should put in my 2c. 40+ HD video discs and no complaints at all from this user.
I do wish that the price would come down... the DVD+R equivalent is much cheaper but doesn't work with my camera's software.

These discs are nice. I have nad no problems with them so far. I have tried them on various DVD players. Remember you need a Dual Layer DVD Writer to use these.

5Solid Media  Feb 01, 2009
By Dean Halpern "DJ_DeanH"

No complaints. Used all 50 without a hitch. I'm reluctantly switching to Memorex for my reorder because of cost savings. I hope I don't regret it.
