This items needs to be connected to a USB hub because it has two cords (1 for data and the other Charging) but the hub can be connected to the PS3 USB connection. It works well but know that you have to make sure to push it down onto the connectors and watch for the blinking red charging light on the controllers.

Initially when I got this product I was happy to be able to charge my motion controllers in one area...but when the device is plugged in and the motion controllers are connected...I can't tell if they are charging or not...and if/when they are done charging.
