3Good product, good service, but ink usage is an issue  Nov 24, 2009
By C. S. Junker "soul_survivor"
So far I have only replaced the black cartridge. At first, the printer did not recognize it. I removed it, put it back in again, and all was well.

However, after a short time, the printer reported the ink tank as empty again. I contacted Toner Pals and they said this is normal; sometimes the printer does not recognize their cartridges. While I have had no printing problems, not having reliable information on the status of the ink tank is an issue. I have heard some reports that this problem occurs even with the manufacturer's tanks; one user recommended simply continuing to print until the ink runs out. However, others warn that this risks damaging the unit.

The problem may ultimately lie with the chip/sensor that monitors the ink tanks, but at this point I feel safer using the manufacturer's cartridges.

Update: A few days later, the printer now says the ink tank is dry. Looking at the color cartridges from Toner Pals, they come from two different manufacturers. Since I don't do a high volume of printing, I feel more comfortable paying a bit more for the name-brand and hopefully getting more usage out of the ink tanks. The Amazon price for the OEM is reasonable.

2Cannot recommend any longer.  Aug 25, 2009
By random nerd#29410
I purchased these replacement cartridges with strong reservations about non-oem ink and chipped cartridges in general.

I couldn't have been more wrong. They work exactly as well as the OEM product for significantly less money. For an ink-hungry printer like the MP620, this product makes printing much more affordable. The whole process from packaging to instructions to function are every bit as good as OEM ink. I very highly recommend this product.

UPDATE 10/10:

I can no longer recommend this product. Our last two orders (10-packs) both contained color and black cartridges that either printed poorly or not at all.

first review august 2009

i was skeptical because i have had issues with generic ink in the past on different printers ... this worked right out of the box.. i have printed a few things so far and everything looks the same as the named brand stuff at a fraction of the price... plus i live fairly close to this company (southern california) .. i ordered yesterday afternoon and this morning it is sitting on my doorstep... i have enough ink to last 2 full time students about a year ... what more could u ask for?... thanks guys

second review nov 2009

the first time i got this product it was from 77ink... product worked perfectly.. second time i get the product it is from toner pals... the boxes of ink look different.. the quality is not very good.. some of the pictures of the ppt handouts will print with a blurry yellow line across it (best way i can describe it) .. i have tried cleaning out my printer, adjusting, cleaning nozzles etc.. i think these cartridges the second time around aren't the same ,, and aren't as good ... wouldn't get again from tonerpals, because of the quality ... delivery was fast .. but not as fast as 77ink (so. calif delivery)...

1Vendor Misrepresents Their Products - Don't Buy From Them  Dec 24, 2010
By Rodd Hall
Here's the summary of my feedback: This vendor says their ink will work on the Canon PIXMA MX870 printer, but it doesn't. When you discover it doesn't, they say "You have to order our new ones ... and by the way, they cost twice as much." They did this under their former name of 77Ink, and no doubt are doing it under their new name of In-Tank. If you want the gory details, read on.

On 10/4/2010 I did a search on Amazon.com for "Canon Pixma MX870 ink". One of the results of that search was a set of 10 ink tanks, offered by 77Ink. Their description of these ink tanks said they were compatible with original Canon PGI-220BK and Canon CLI-221 ink tanks. According to the Amazon.com "Will This Work With Your Printer" feature, 77Ink said "Yes! This will work with the Canon PIXMA MX870 Wireless Office All-in-One Printer". I checked again today, and their description of these ink tanks still says they will work with my printer.

Based on the above information, I purchased this set of 10 ink tanks from 77Ink for $14.49.

As I can document from the numerous e-mails I exchanged with 77Ink over the course of several weeks, 77Ink subsequently changed their story and said these ink tanks would NOT work with my MX870, and that I needed to order different ones. At least that is what they told ME, even though they are still advertising to new potential customers that the ones I ordered will work in the MX870.

Now, rather than sending me replacements for the ink tanks they sold me under false pretenses, they are asking me to order different ink tanks from them, once again promising they will work in my printer. But this time the price of those ink tanks is $15.31 for only five ink tanks - twice as much as the ones I ordered in the first place.

That's the best they will offer me.

Oh, and finally ... Between the time I ordered from them and now, 77Ink has changed its name to Ink-Tank, so don't buy from them either.

1Did not work in my MX860  Jul 02, 2010
By William V. Smith
The ad claimed the cartridges were compatible with Canon MX860, but my printer rejected them, no matter how many times I tried. Wasted my money. Caveat emptor!
