The math in the previous review was incorrect. At 9 ml for the Standard cartridge, and 13 ml for the XL cartridge, the costs are as follows:
Standard $20.43 -- $2.27 per ML
XL $26.99 -- $2.08 per ML
So, yes... the larger capacity XL cartridge is a better buy.

You can get 13ml of ink in the XL, 44% more than the 9ml in the regular 211. And it isn't much more expensive. So don't buy this one, buy the 211XL.

Didnt get the XL just the reg one to save some cash, and in the end printed about 4 8x10's and it was empty, so I end up spending way more to get another XL which I should have in the 1st place. DO NOT think you are going to be ok getting the smaller 1 for a few bucks less, it is not worth it!

The noisy Canon 480 stated "out of ink" after @ 50 prints of black print. I bought two more black print cartridges with exhorbitant shipping charges, but it was only when I also added another color cartridge with excessive shipping charges that the machine worked.

Using second cartridge in a new printer so I don't really know how long this one will last. However, the canon cartridges that were in the printer when purchased were short lived. If these are similar then it will be cheaper to buy a new printer with cartridges included than to purchase the cartridges alone. (I paid 39.00 for the printer),
So, if the cartridges last a reasonable time, then I might recommend them to others. 1
