The Apple Mini-DVI to VGA Adapter was specifically designed for use with the latest 12-inch PowerBook G4 (models introduced in September 2003). Connect the adapter to the Mini-DVI port of the PowerBook G4 and the VGA end of the adapter to an external VGA monitor or projector. Both video-mirroring or dual display modes are supported. Ultra High Density, Triple Shielded, and high Intensity Twisted Pair Cable is used for the most stabilized impedance and highest uncompressed digital video signal transfer available. It maintains high bandwidth and maximum data signal integrity. Made with lead-free and environmentally safe materials is for a better world. Apple iMac Macbooks Powerbook G4 Please Note: There are no audio signals on the Mini-DVI connector. You'll have to run a separate audio cable from the iMac's audio output to the TV.

I've used several of these - don;t waste your money with Apple - these are perfect.
I've used with several different Macbooks and Mac Minis and no issues whatsoever.

Works fine. It's just like the Apple version. If you have a macbook and want to hook it to your flat screen tv... this is the ticket.

As with buying any generic product, i was apprehensive about this at first. I ended up just giving it a try & it works just fine - no problems whatsoever @ a fraction of the cost of OEM product.

I was extremely unhappy with this product. I was told to buy a mini dvi to vga female cable for my mac book pro to give a keynote presentation for a national organization. I thought I was being extra prepared for the presentation as the AV support at the hotel should have had the required cables for their projector.

As it was they didn't have the cable so I pulled out mine out, it had arrived just before my departure to the convention. Well, the cable didn't fit my mini dvi slot in my computer and apparently there are different size mini dvi slots and cables? It would have been nice to know that before placing the order. I would have been better off paying the extra money at a local store to get the right cable for my Macbook pro.

Beyond that the customer service was poor. I explained the problem I was having and that I wanted to return the cable. The rep told me that I would have to pay shipping for the return and if I wanted a RA #, of course I'd like a RA # that was the whole reason I was contacting them. I never got a RA # and I still have a cable that doesn't work. I am still hoping to return the item but I fear that it will cost more to return it than the cost of the cable. In the end it was a waste of money and a wasted effort.
